stress moments @ cute hotel N #innsbruck. Prague mugger gt cheapo travel cell phone which means i have 2 b internet dependant…( no complaints this cld have bn 1910, tour setups via post, can u imagine?) hotel wifi wasnt working right. ws sitting N a corner of cute nautical themed dining room kind of silently freaking.owner of hotel, sweet man, who cooked my breakfast,+ reminded me alot of my grandfather, started coming over 2 my stressy corner evry 10 minutes/so trying 2 make me smile. 1st, patted me on back, no words,genuine grandfatherly pat. 10 min later: guest bk w/ hemingways ‘53 sig, asking me 2 sign as well.. I cracked a smile… 10 min later: 100 yr old photo of hotel, he said i cld keep…love/live 4 old photos so of course i smiled… 10 min later: Funny stories abt his sailing days stateside , having schnitzl N nyc tht tasted so good he ws shocked 2 find out cook ws american etc…10 min later: gifted me fancy ink pen so i cld write my troubles away ” like hemingway”. ( tech atleast a 5th of scotch wld be needed w/ tht, bt i smiled big anyway) made my day. All the austrians i met were really naturally happy ppl, almost reminded me of californians, which slightly irked my inner american manhattanite… In the best ways. Thanks #austria #tourdiary

Notes from last night: promoter told me they used this old promo photo 4 the posters, bc a pic of a musician w/ sax in hand “scares” people. Made me laugh. ws feeling sick right b4 the show, still a little pissed abt being mugged + jst overall kind of achy. The band i split the bill w/ were outstanding(!!) many thanks to 1 of the musicians in tht band tht came up 2 me 2 say tht my music+ blog were really inspiring 2 him. Tht meant alot.ive bn thinking abt closing down the tumblr bt maybe i will keep it 4 awhile longer. And this town im in ( #innsbruck) ws bombed 22 x’s during wwii. And everytime i hear a euro siren, i think of my love for charles shultz& snoopy.#soamerican #tourdiary #austria #love
