2005 or 6. tonic, les, nyc. photo used for 1 of the ny times reviews. i made all the jewelry i ws wearing. experimenting w/ face paint. made the floor length chiffon skirt by hand. this night ws great bc my band sounded amazing, but also it ws 1 of the few gigs during tht time tht musicians i admire made a point 2 come out+ witness. a rare thing bc nyc is so damned pricey, + sometimes getting from point a 2 b is exhausting.  the only problem I ever had with this photo, and ones like it,  is the way it’s use seemed over sexualized sometimes when used elsewhere most likely w/o the original photogs permission, in promotional material. I like to dress up for the music sometimes and i have/still have a love for personal style/visual swagger ( not abt fashion really, as fashion costs money, goes deeper than that,  style/swagger doesnt have to cost a dime. it’s an internal thing tht shines through no matter what u coat on top)  but sometimes the way photos like this were/are used depresses me still.#flashbackfriday (Taken with instagram)
